Like my Dad and Grandpa before me, I am a small business owner. It is satisfying to know that through my business I have created something from nothing and that my business success is tied directly to my creativity, effort and the trust achieved with customers. In 20+ years of running it, their are always new challenges and things to learn. With each new day there is the opportunity to help other businesses grow.
My role within the company has evolved over-time. In the beginning, I was a 1 man band (sales, developer, president and janitor.) As we hired staff, my roles evolved towards sales / project manager / requirements author. In 2015 I took a deliberate decision to get out of software application development and go back to my roots of data reporting and analysis.
To that end, I've spent significant effort over the last 2 years refreshing my knowledge of SQL Server and the data science field. I passed my last exam for SQL Server MCSA in November 2016 and the Microsoft Professional Program in Data Science in November 2017. This period has been as close to a sabbatical that an independently employed person can get. As 2017 draws to a close -- I'm eager to apply what I've learned for other companies.
I’m an avid motorcyclist and sailor who has been fortunate to live in West Africa, India, Spain and Manhattan. Born and raised in Michigan, I moved to Georgia in 1992 and have been a Rome resident since 2006. Camping and hiking are favorite activities I share with my wife and children.
